Team Rosie

Daytime television gets a lot of facetime thanks to my temporary schedule.

If I'm not watching the Netflix du jour (right now, Gangs of New York), then I'm usually watching some kind of talk show.

And I gotta say - I'm liking this whole new View on ABC.

From the start: let me say, I've always been a Rosie O fan. Her being gay doesn't bother me at all, and I'm over the whole Tom Cruise obsession fascination. I guess I like Rosie because she's an outspoken broad who has a big heart and is passionate about the issues that interest her.

Kind of like me.

There are reports that Rosie is making Elisabeth Hasselbeck cry, perhaps because of the underlying political tensions there.

I don't really know whether this is true or not. One thing I know is Rosie and Elisabeth sit at two completely different ends of the political spectrum. While I'm not as liberal as Rosie leans, I'm certainly not a member of the Right Wing Conspiracy. I'm definitely a Moderate. I call myself a Liberal Republican but sometimes I feel like I'm less an Elephant and more a RINO.

Nevertheless, I just can't get behind Elisabeth's knee jerk conservativism that sometimes bubbles over the rim of polite daytime television discourse.

I don't care that Elisabeth is a die hard conservative. I don't care which way she votes. I just wish she would be a little less vocal about her opinions on a forum that is decidedly non-partisan.

I like Meet the Press. I love Tucker Carlson. That's where I go when I want a dash of political vim and vinegar.

Not The View.

Soapbox clear.

Umm, but calling Oprah and Gail "a little bit gay but just not doing it?

Rosie has to know not to mess with the Deity herself, Oprah.

I don't want Rosie smote because she's been way funny even as far back as VH1 days.

Yeah I don't know how I feel about that whole O thing. Perhaps it's not a good idea to call the Devine Miss O out on national television...

But still.

I have a soft spot for Rosie.

I like her too. She kinda lost me during the whole shave-one-side-of-my-head phase, but I think we need the pot stirred every now and then. I HATE Elisabeth Hasseltwat....she's, as Rizzo would say..."She looks too pure to be pink."

everytime I catch the view, good ole liz sounds like she's just spouting back something she heard daddy or hubby say. She doesn't seem to have a real opinion of her own...what's the word, oh yeah, brainwashed...

Rosie...ugh. I haven't watched the latest incarnation of "The View", but I've never really been a fan of Rosie's. The whole Tom Selleck interview from a few years back kind of ticked me off.

And, though I've heard her name before, I didn't know who Elisabeth Hasselbeck was...until I just did a Google image search.

I'm siding with her. :) (yeah, I'm a guy)

I don't love Rosie but over Star Jones she's a goddess!

NB-C and Red - I think we're in agreement.

Micah, I always said you were one to think with your head...

D- I don't have any love for Star, either. She crazy...

I have never really sat and watched a whole episode of the veiw and I have no idea what Elizabeth says or does but from the descrition here I would probably agree with Rosie more often, and I find that hard to beleive. I can deal with Crazy lefties more than crazy righties and I am a "RINO" too (something my co-workers constantly beat me up over, bunch-a-liberal-commie-conspiritors, J/K).
