Lefty Loosy, Righty Tighty

9:40 AM Monday - I-71 N exit ramp to Dana Ave./Montgomery Rd.

Don't ever say I'm afraid to get my hands dirty.

I'd never changed a tire before, and I was totally freaked out because this all went down on one of Cincinnati's busiest interstates.

There I was, parked on the side of the road with cars zooming by to get off the exit ramp.

But I persevered, armed with my car manual, the standard jack and other tools.

No AAA, no call to Dad, no crying.

I've got a couple slices on my right hand but it's a small price to pay for the pride I came away with knowing I could do something I was always a little weary of.

I just still can't believe nobody stopped to help.

Absolutely! You, Nat and I can drink beer and hang drywall. I can only imagine the results...

OMG you are a stud to change a tire there!!!!!

Seriously, NB-C, can you get her a set of those balls you found?

Changing your own tire makes you such an awesomely independent woman that you are officially allowed to toss a beret in the air while music plays in the background.

I'm surprised no one stopped. Must have been rush hour?

I got a flat on I64 on the way to a friend's wedding a few years ago. I had just gotten a full/French set of acrylic nails. I gave up the option of trying to change it myself and drove about a mile, on the flat, to the WalMart. Thank God it was close. I don't do well in these kinds of situations.

PROPS for getting it done yourself! Now promise me you'll never do that again! As a newswoman - you know how many people DIE on the side of the road changing their tires! They get hit by some ass not paying attention. Next time, at least call a cop so they can come out and flash the lights.

Thanks,
Mom
